2009 KECHI ACCOMPLISHMENTS BY DEPARTMENT

 

Administrative / Clerk’s Office Accomplishments 2009

-Hired second City Administrator

-Hired City Treasurer

-Budget Amendments

-Utility Rates modernized

-Fully engaged Council and the public in 2010 Budget process

-137 East Kechi Condemnation proceedings initiated

-Wolf Development

-Rock Pointe facilitation

-Woodlawn 49 facilitation

-Initiated Strategic Plan

-Convenience Store facilitation and rebates

-Three new residential building permits

-Reestablished relationships with neighbors, County, and Wichita and others

-Implemented the Solid Waste and Recycling Program for Kechi Residents.

-Adding to date 533 solid waste accounts and 685 recycle accts.  166 new accts added to the utility billing system.

-Processed 517 new cases for municipal court and disposed of 460; collecting over

$45,000.00

-Credit Card payments through the internet for Municipal Court and Utility Customers

-Processed approximately 180 transactions for approximately $25,000.00

-Processed approximately 350 transactions for approximately $43,000.00.

 

-Issued 90 building permits

KECHI PLANNING COMMISSION & ZONING ADMINISTRATOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2009

  • January - Zoning changed for 128 W. Kechi Rd (Richard & Cindy Wolf property) to C-1 Special Commercial.
  • February – KDOT North Final Plat approved
  • February – Site Plan Committee recommended approval of Chisholm Creek Kennels new office & dog suites.
  • March – Copperleaf Creek Final Plat approved by City Council.
  • March – Planning Commission approves Site Plan for Chisholm Creek Kennels new office & dog suites.
  • April – Held Workshop with David Foster for Site Plan & Planning Commissioners on Site Plan objectives and requirements; discussed concerns and answered questions.
  • May – The 2008-2020 Comprehensive Plan was presented to City Council after being reworked for corrections and format by the Zoning Administrator.
  • May - Site Plan Committee recommended approval of Wolf Addition Project.
  • May – Zoning Administrator completed 5 large format aerials maps requested by Chief Doll for use in court cases.
  • June – Site Plan Committee recommended approval of Rock Pointe Advertising Sign
  • July – Planning Commission approved Rock Pointe Advertising Sign
  • July – Approved Zoning Permits for 2 new homes and Chisholm Creek Kennels new Office – 1st major construction of 2009.
  • August – David Quiring, 9500 N Oliver, was appointed to the Planning Commission as an out of town member.
  • November – Planning Commission recommended conditional approval of requested zoning changes on Brink St. for Quail Ridge Partners.
  • November – Planning Commission recommended conditional approval of Kechi Park Preliminary Plat.
  • December – Zoning Administrator presents updated Zoning & Subdivision Fees to City Council and they are approved.
  • December - Planning Commission recommended conditional approval of Quail Ridge Subdivision Preliminary Plat.
