The regularly scheduled meeting of the Kechi Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Richard Wolf at 7:05pm in the Council Chambers of Kechi City Hall.

Commissioners in attendance were Oscar Thomison, Dan Clark, Bill Moss; Larry Burk joined the meeting at 7:10pm. Terry Crane was not in attendance. Zoning Administrator Chris Morlan and Recording Secretary Dee DeGruson were the staff in attendance. Visitor present was Kris Rose, Baughman Co. representing John McKay.

Bill Moss moved to accept the Agenda for the March 13, 2012 meeting as written; Dan Clark seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0.

Dan Clark moved to approve the Minutes of the February 15, 2012 meeting, with a second by Bill Moss. Motion passed 4-0.

Chris Morlan discussed with the commission the resignation of the City Administrator and how he thought the Strategic Plan and other projects would proceed.

Update to Remaining Changes to zoning/Subdivision/Site Plan Regulations

The Zoning Administrator did not make any progress to the Updates to Remaining Changes to Zoning Regulations

a. Request to Exceed One Acre Limit for Plats for Small Tracts Kris Rose, with Baughman Co. appeared before the Commission representing John McKay, a property owner north of 53rd St S. He requested to be allowed to exceed the one acre limit for filing a Final Plat for Small Tract. This plat, named McKay Acres will be a 30 acre, one lot plat for a single family residence. Zoning Administrator Morlan had no concerns or issues with the request even though it is much larger than the one acre limit, and since it was only one lot and recommended approval to the Commission. The Commission asked a few clarifying questions on location and intended use of the property.

Motion by Bill Moss to allow the McKay Acres Addition to exceed of the one acre limit for filing of a Final Plat for Small Tract as allowed in Article 4 Section 113 B #1 of the Subdivision Regulations. Oscar Thomison seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0

b. Reschedule April Planning Commission meeting Zoning Administrator Morlan requested the April meeting be rescheduled due to his unavailability for the normal date of April 10.

Motion by Dan Clark to reschedule the April Planning Commission to Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 7:00pm, City Hall. Bill Moss seconded the motion. Motion carried. 5-0

There were no comments or questions on the February Zoning Administrator’s report.

Motion by Bill Moss adjourn at 7:35pm, Oscar Thomison seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
