Minutes – May 8, 2012
I. Call to Order
The May meeting of the Kechi Planning Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Vice- Chairman Dan Clark in the Council Chambers of Kechi City Hall.
II. Roll Call
Commissioners Oscar Thomison, Larry Burk and Bill Moss were present. Richard Wolf and Terry Crane were unable to attend. Zoning Administrator Chris Morlan & Recording Secretary Dee DeGruson were in attendance.
Bill Moss moved to accept the Agenda for the May 8, 2012 meeting. Oscar Thomison seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0.
IV. Approval of Minutes
Motion by Bill Moss to approve the Minutes of the April 18, 2012 meeting, with a second by Larry Burk. The motion passed 4-0.

IX. Screening Plan/Site Plan Review
None
Update to remaining changes to zoning Subdivision/Site Plan Regulations-Child Care Definitions; Master List Update –Signs
Zoning Administrator Morlan gave the members an update to the Proposed Zoning, Subdivision and Site Plan Regs. and Master list changes. The Child Care provisions in Article 2 –Definitions were brought up to Kansas Code. Chris is close to finalizing the changes to the Zoning & Subdivision Regulations to prepare them to the Council before a hearing is held to approve them.
XI. New Business
A public hearing will be scheduled for June 12 to consider a Special Use for the Artisan Lanes property allowing for a church to meet there. Notices will be sent.
Election of officers
Clark opened the floor up to nominations for Chairman for the next year.
Oscar Thomison moved to nominate Dan Clark as Chairman, second by Bill Moss. Vote: 3-0
Bill Moss moved to nominate Richard Wolf as Vice-Chair; second by Oscar Thomison. Vote 3-0.
Oscar Thomison moved to nominate Bill Moss to remain as Secretary, Second by Larry Burk. Vote: 3-0
XII. Committee & Staff Reports
The Zoning /Subdivision Regulations are on the Kechi web Site now, with the help of the Intern Kim Webb. Z.A. Morlan has begun working on the updated Zoning Map.
XIII. Adjourn
Motion by Oscar Thomison to adjourn the meeting @7:45 p.m. Bill Moss seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
