Welcome to Kechi – ‘A Place to Call Home’.

This is a rapidly-growing community of more than 2000 residents, located to the north of Wichita, Kansas. Access into Kechi can be from Highways 254 and 135, both of which are 4-lane expressways. Kechi residents enjoy the quiet and safety of a small city while being only minutes away from metropolitan services, shopping and entertainment.

Both new residents and businesses are welcomed. There are several new housing additions and commercially zoned areas for economic development. If you are looking to relocate your family or business, consider the benefits of becoming part of this great community.

If you are already a Kechi resident, your active involvement is encouraged and needed. Opportunities include serving as an elected official or member of one of the boards/groups that meet on a regular basis. An example of a shorter-term commitment would be to assist with the annual Kechi Fair. Resident input/involvement is welcomed and appreciated!

Prior to city council meetings (2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month), I am available for resident questions, concerns and suggestions. City staff and I can always be reached by calling Kechi City Hall (316-744-9287).

Robert Jackson
Mayor of Kechi
